MEET THE FOUNDER
Francesca Cottle, Founder & Director of Bottega Terra, a mother and wife. I live with my family on the south Coast of NSW, Australia. I was born and raised in Puglia, Italy: known as the land between two seas, stretched along the stiletto heel of Italy's boot.
With Bottega Terra I want to bring into Australian homes the traditions of ceramics made in Puglia.
Puglia is raw and elemental, wild and natural and so are its products. In a world of high automation, the slow pace of Puglia and its centennial traditions stand out. I was inspired by this authenticity to start Bottega Terra and bring a touch of the Mediterranean charm and slow living into your homes.
As we grow and release more product categories, we hope you embark with us on our journey to discover South Italy craftsmanship.
My mission is to bring into your homes the art of slow and mindful living, appreciating the small, wholesome details through hand made ceramics. I hope that with your Bottega Terra pieces, you will embrace life's simplicity and authenticity.
OUR PROMISES
HANDCRAFTED IN ITALY
Our exclusive ceramics are made by hand in a southern Italian town known for centuries for its artisan ‘ceramica’ production. The uniqueness of our ceramics and the skills of their masters define our brand. Each piece have an authentic character and charm. Our craftsmen have a great legacy to their traditions passed down through generations.
LONGEVITY OF OUR CERAMICS
The longevity of ceramics is a remarkable characteristic that has contributed to their presence throughout human history. Unlike other materials that can warp or deteriorate over time, our ceramics have the potential to endure for centuries, serving you and your generations to come.
SUSTAINABILITY
Craftsmanship and sustainability go hand in hand in the context of traditions and cultural heritage. Production is sustainable, made by hand and with natural materials, minimising impact on our planet. In the making process, ceramics are constantly exposed to the natural climate, which is a fundamental element to the realisation of our creations.
