Product Info
A beautiful antique amphora dating to the late 19th century, originating from Puglia and discovered in the Valle D’Itria region. It was found in Ostuni, an historic Roman town on the Adriatic coast, famous for its dazzling lime-painted white houses.
Its softly rounded form and traditional handles are complemented by a warm, earthy stone-toned base. More than 150 years old, this is a distinctive piece that beautifully reflects the character and craftsmanship of traditional Puglian ceramics.
Originally created by local farmers to carry and store water or wine while working in the countryside, this amphora offers a glimpse into everyday life in rural Puglia. Today, its age, natural patina and individual markings make it a wonderful decorative object, whether displayed on its own or used as a vase.
